Plain language summary: We don’t collect, store, or sell personal data. Backups are created on your WordPress site and uploaded directly to your Google Drive. Our optional OAuth broker (connect.wpseguro.pt) helps complete Google’s sign-in/refresh flow; it does not receive or store your backup files.
1) Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the WPSeguro Remote Backups plugin and any related websites, documentation, and helper services provided by WPSeguro.pt (collectively, the “Service”). By installing or using the plugin, you agree to these Terms.
Note: The plugin code is distributed under the GNU GPL (see the plugin header/license). These Terms cover service aspects (website, OAuth broker, notices, support) and do not limit your GPL rights in the software.
2) Definitions
- “You”, “User” means the site owner/administrator who installs and uses the plugin.
- “Backups” means ZIP files of your WordPress database and/or files created by the plugin.
- “OAuth Broker” means the helper endpoint at
connect.wpseguro.ptthat facilitates Google OAuth sign-in/refresh on your behalf. - “External Services” means third-party services the plugin connects to (e.g., Google Drive API).
3) Services & Scope
The plugin creates on-demand backups of your site and uploads them to your Google Drive. The plugin may also list and restore backups from your Drive. The OAuth Broker may be used to simplify Google OAuth on shared hosting. We do not provide cloud storage, nor do we copy or store your backup files on our servers.
4) External Services & Data Flows
Google Drive API (Google LLC)
- Purpose: Upload, list, and manage backup files in your Google Drive.
- Data sent: Backup ZIP files and file metadata (name, size). During connection, the plugin may read your Drive email and storage quota to show connection/quota info.
- When: On connect (OAuth 2.0) and during backup/restore operations you initiate.
- Policies: Drive API Terms · Google APIs ToS · Google Privacy Policy
WPSeguro Connect OAuth Broker (connect.wpseguro.pt)
- Purpose: Facilitate Google OAuth sign-in and token refresh; especially useful on shared hosting environments.
- Data sent: Site URL and one-time state/code to start OAuth; refresh token when renewing access. No backup content is sent to the broker.
- Notes: Tokens are stored in your WordPress database. The broker relays token exchanges; standard server logs (e.g., IP, user-agent) may be kept as described in our privacy notice.
5) Data & Privacy
- No personal data collection by us: We do not collect, store, or sell personal data. Backup files are transferred directly from your site to your Google Drive.
- Local storage: OAuth tokens and plugin settings are stored in your WordPress database on your server.
- Logs: Minimal server logs may be retained for security/diagnostics (e.g., IP, user-agent) for a limited time.
- Controller/Processor: You are the data controller for your site data and backups. We are not a processor of your backup contents.
- Revocation: You can disconnect the plugin at any time and revoke access in your Google Account permissions.
